形態特徵

• Perennial herb 0.5-1.3 m tall, erect or ascending at base, simple or ± branched; branches 4-angled when young, eventually 4-lined.
• Leaves sessile; lamina 4.0-9.7 cm long, 0.7-3.5 cm broad, lanceolate to elliptic or oblong-linear, apex acute to obtuse or subapiculate, base cordate to truncate, amplexicaul, chartaceous, rather paler beneath, with ± marked lateral and submarginal vein, dense reticulate venation and only pale glandular dots, not or scarcely prominent.
• Inflorescence 1-35-flowered, subcorymbose to narrowly pyramidal (including flowering branches); flowers 3-7 cm in diam., plane or ± reflexed, in bud ovoid, ± acute to obtuse; sepals (3-)5-15 mm long, 1.5-7 mm broad, ovate or lanceolate to elliptic or oblong, acute to rounded, margin entire, erect in fruit; petals 15-40 mm long, 5-20 mm broad, ± curved oblanceolate, golden yellow, persistent; stamen fascicles 5, persistent, each with ca. 30 stamens; anthers golden yellow, with amber gland; ovary 4-7(-9) mm long, broadly ovoid to narrowly ovoid-pyramidal, 5-locular with central lacuna, the styles 0.5-2 times as long, free or up to 4/5 united.
• Capsule 9-22 mm long, 5-12 mm broad, broadly to narrowly ovoid or ovoid-pyramindal; seeds 1-1.5 mm long, dark reddish or yellowish brown, markedly carinate or narrowly winged, without terminal appendage.

分布

• 台灣 : open grassy or stony ground in lowlands.
• 世界 : Russia (Altai region to Kamchatka, Sakhalin), Korea, Japan, mainland China except Hainan, N. Vietnam, northeastern U. S. A. and adjacent Canada.
